History and Milestones
Frankel Tutors was registered with the Ministry of Education as a tutorial school in the year 1996. Starting off with a core team of 4 teachers, at a rented shoplot in Frankel Avenue, the centre soon grew in size, increasing its enrolment from a mere 10 students in its early days to more than 120 at its peak. Students came mainly from the Frankel Estate, Siglap and Opera Estate areas, where parents soon became convinced about the quality of education at the little centre.
Quality at its Core
The main selling point then, as it is today, is seen in the commitment to provide quality education within a small group setting. Teachers are actively screened, and only top teachers and professional tutors make the cut. We make focused investments in our resource planning to ensure lessons are conducted with a minds-on and hands-on approach so our students are able to apply what they are taught.
The Big Move
As word spread of the quality programmes being conducted at Frankel Tutors, the centre moved into its present premises in B1-07 Kembangan Plaza (just opposite the Kembangan MRT station) in 2001. We would eventually acquire 01-03, the present premises for our reception, admin and some of our classes. This move was necessary to ensure the centre remained accessible to students staying outside of the Siglap area, namely at Bedok, Eunos and even as far as Bukit Timah and Bishan. The new premises was refurbished to adhere to MOE’s guidelines for private schools and provides a conducive environment for teaching and learning. In Feb 2020, COVID began its global reach and the move to pivot to online teaching was imminent. Frankel Tutors quickly embraced the change and started online classes with effect from 24 March 2020. With the impact of the COVID situation worldwide, Frankel Tutors gave up the site classroom and evolved into providing tuition fully online, now teaching students national wide, embracing the new normal.
