Hello 2018!

After a much-needed break, we are all now raring to get back into our classrooms and start the year well.

We had our Annual Staff Meeting last week, where all of us teachers presented our plans and targets for the year ahead. This year’s professional development focus of the meeting was spent discussing and refining our classroom management strategies in order to ensure our students optimise their learning time with us.

With the advent of the ‘smartphone‘ age, we find that some of our students face challenges when the time comes for them to consolidate their learning. Despite having the potential of being a powerful learning tool, that gadget within arms-reach often serves as a distraction keeping students from the focused attention they need to grapple with concepts taught.

As such, we hope to integrate smart learning strategies into our classes, with the aim of helping our students manage their learning better for maximum results. Stay tuned.

After an intense morning, we broke for a quick lunch nearby before continuing on our individual prep activities for the year ahead.
