Mr Erik is marked by his passion to teach Chemistry and Physics.

Having been teaching for 16 years, Mr Erik has a track record of leading his students to distinctions.

He’s also our centre’s most senior and patient teacher, evident by the number of students who return to visit him, some even seeking guidance for their careers!

What our students say

"Mr Tan was patient in answering any questions we had on chemistry and explained it well for us to understand. He also allowed us to ask him questions beyond tutoring hours and it helped me as I was able to clarify any doubts I had and also complete more chemistry work and papers! I was able to understand the concepts better by clarifying with Mr Tan and noting down the
common mistakes that I made. Thanks, Mr Tan for your guidance during the months leading up to O's! I enjoyed the lessons very much and i'm grateful for your help which enabled me to improve my chemistry. I had improved from C6 to A2!"
-- Deryn Lee, AHS

What our students say

"I've got A2 for both Pure Chemistry and Pure Physics! Thank you, Mr Erik! "

-- Samuel L., ACS (Barker Road)

"From F9 to B3 for Combined Science Physics-Chemistry! Thank you Mr Erik, you're a great and approachable teacher and I appreciate the help to clear my doubts."

What Mr Erik Tan says

The idea that multitudes of microscopic interactions can lead to large-scale effects during reactions seems to provide us with a model of how our own individual actions can have wide-ranging impacts on us as a society. I enjoy trying to get my students to see deeper beyond their 10-year series questions and start thinking about how these actually happen in the world around them.
